Team Challenge
Our Team Challenge programs target the development of group cohesion and cooperation, using team building challenges or stimulating, problem-solving tasks. In overcoming group challenges, each individual may gain a sense of equality and unity within their group. Learn more about our Team Building Elements.
Team Challenge programs are often used by workshop or meeting facilitators, school groups, sports teams, youth groups, and retreat programs as they initiate teamwork, communication, trust, participation and personal growth.
Our staff can adapt team building elements, or activities, to suit virtually any setting and can select particular elements to satisfy your group’s needs. Please note that each element offers a unique set of challenges designed to achieve different outcomes. Tell our staff what you hope to gain, and we will work with you to help your group reach success!
High Ropes Course
The High Ropes Course is a treetop challenge focusing on individual challenge while maintaining the cohesiveness of the group. Overcoming a common experience urges participants to conquer fears, build self-confidence, and trust and depend on team members for support.
Participants will be harnessed and fastened to safety cables as they walk across a high wire attached to a safety line, which is controlled by our experienced and trained staff.
At Camp Timberline, our “Challenge By Choice” philosophy enables participants to choose an appropriate level of participation and risk. The approach prevents failure and allows everyone to participate, regardless of physical ability or athletic experience.
Our staff can work with you to design a program, to include Team Challenge and/or High Ropes activities, to meet your group’s specific needs.
Mountain Biking
Gear up and speed your way over to Camp Timberline to check out our trail system, with trails ranging from cross-country to hardcore downhill and freeride. Timberline’s natural landscape proves a premier place to ride for bikers who love technical, varied terrain or screaming down trails.
A Ridgeline Challenge and Membership Drive are held yearly, and rides offer spectacular views of Nanakuli Valley and the Waianae coast over Ko Olina.
Ride one time for a nominal fee or purchase a yearly membership. We welcome you to rent a yurt after an exhausting ride or camp out during your special event! Bikers are responsible for providing all necessary equipment (i.e., bike, helmet, pads.)
Waterfront Activities
Waterfront activities, such as kayaking, snorkeling, canoeing, tide pooling, beach swimming and sailing are also available to Camp Timberline guests.
